Ian Berg
I grew up in Eugene, OR and Redding, CA. I graduated from the University of Oregon in 2004 with a B.S. in Human Physiology and Business. I then spent four years as a building contractor specializing in Stone Masonry here in Bend. When the building market died in 2007, I decided to get out of construction. I spent the next four years in medical device and pharmaceutical sales. During this time I became interested in real estate investing.
In 2007 I bought my first foreclosure and first investment REO in 2009. My parents and I bought more properties over the next few years keeping most as rentals which I manage here in Central Oregon. We had worked with many different realtors and were not satisfied with the service we were receiving, so in 2011 I got my broker’s license. I love the chase and thrill of finding “Deals” and then negotiating hard for my clients. With experience in: Rentals, Flips, 1031 exchanges and buying with self directed IRA’s I can navigate through the often complicated transactions to make that great investment happen.
Central Oregon has been my playground for almost 30 years. My family took our first annual ski trip to Sunriver in 1984 when I was three. My wife (a former teacher & now property manager in Bend) and I decided to move here permanently in 2006. We now own a 5 acre “hobby” ranch in Tumalo. We enjoy Snowboarding and Nordic skiing in the winter. My 6 year old son was on skis at 2, my 3 year old daughter started Nordic skiing at 18 months. During the summer you’ll find us fishing the high lakes & oregon coast or hiking and biking outside town or up in the Cascades. In the fall I enjoy bow hunting big game, waterfowl hunting and attending Oregon Duck football games. Basically we love exploring all the outdoor opportunity that Oregon has to offer.
